                              HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1442

                              A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Kori Atkins upon being
                                           named the 2026 Boys & Girls Club of
                                           Chattanooga Youth of the Year.
       WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly pause in their
deliberations to salute those young citizens who, through their remarkable efforts, have
distinguished themselves as emerging community and state leaders of whom we can all be
proud; and
       WHEREAS, one such deserving person is Kori Atkins, who was recently named the
2026 Boys & Girls Club of Chattanooga Youth of the Year; and
       WHEREAS, Ms. Atkins, a student at Brainerd High School, has been a member of the
Boys & Girls Club of Chattanooga for seven years; and
       WHEREAS, the Boys & Girls Clubs exist to serve youth and provide a safe place of
encouragement, character building, security, and love for children; and
       WHEREAS, since 1947, the Youth of the Year honor has been the Boys & Girls Clubs of
America's premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club
members; and
       WHEREAS, Youth of the Year participants such as Kori Atkins exemplify the critical
impact of Boys & Girls Clubs on the lives of young people, embodying the values of leadership,
service, academic excellence, and healthy lifestyles; and
       WHEREAS, through the Youth of the Year program, Ms. Atkins and other Youth of the
Year participants are able to showcase their talents and achievements, share their hopes and
dreams, and work toward a bright and positive future; and
       WHEREAS, Kori Atkins is a shining example that "GREAT FUTURES START HERE" at
Boys & Girls Clubs; and

       WHEREAS, the success of this State, the strength of our communities, and the overall
vitality of American society depend, in great measure, upon the dedication of young people such
as Ms. Atkins, who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others and who should
be specially recognized for their public and community service; now, therefore,
       BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Kori Atkins upon being named the 2026 Boys &
Girls Club of Chattanooga Youth of the Year and extend to her our best wishes for every future
success.
       BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
without House or Senate designation.
