No. R-318. House concurrent resolution congratulating Hartford Hurricanes
Captain Charlotte Jasmin on being named the 2026 Vermont girls’ basketball
Gatorade Player of the Year.

   Whereas, to score 1,000 points during a four-year tenure on a high school girls’
basketball team is a laudable achievement, but to double that number is truly spectacular
and an occasion to celebrate, and
    Whereas, only a small number of high school girls’ basketball players earn this special
distinction, and in 2026, Hartford Hurricanes Captain Charlotte Jasmin became only the
fifth Vermonter to reach this pinnacle, and her four-year scoring total of 2,025 points also
places her at number five among all Vermont high school female basketball players, and
   Whereas, Charlotte Jasmin is only the fourth 2,000-point scorer to play for at least one
championship team, as the Hurricanes defeated the Lamoille Lancers for the 2026
Division II title, 37–20, and
   Whereas, for National Honor Society member Charlotte Jasmin, dominance on the
basketball court has hardly distracted her classroom focus, and she has set aside time to
volunteer with the Hope Happens Here Foundation, an organization dedicated to
destigmatizing mental health issues for student-athletes, and to serve on the Hartford
High School Athletic Leadership Council, and
   Whereas, these multiple achievements persuaded the panel of judges to honor
Charlotte Jasmin as the 2026 Vermont girls’ basketball Gatorade Player of the Year, now
therefore be it
   Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
   That the General Assembly congratulates Hartford Hurricanes Captain Charlotte
Jasmin on being named the 2026 Vermont girls’ basketball Gatorade Player of the Year,
and be it further
  Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
Charlotte Jasmin.
