 HONORING FAMILY MEDICINE PHYSICIANS FOR THEIR SERVICE AND ADVOCACY

1WHEREAS, Family medicine physicians provide comprehensive and patient-centered
2 care to individuals and families across all ages, genders, and conditions; and
3WHEREAS, These physicians serve as the frontline of our healthcare system, improving
4 health outcomes, reducing costs, and strengthening communities through preventive care and
5 early intervention; and
6WHEREAS, Family medicine physicians play a critical role in addressing public health
7 challenges, including chronic disease, behavioral health needs, and health disparities; and
8WHEREAS, Advocacy Day on April 16, 2026, brings together family medicine
9 physicians from across Rhode Island to engage with policymakers and promote policies that
10 expand access to care, support primary care, and improve the health of all Rhode Islanders; and
11WHEREAS, The State of Rhode Island recognizes the dedication, expertise, and
12 compassionate service of family medicine physicians, as well as their commitment to advancing a
13 more equitable and effective healthcare system; now, therefore be it
14RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby
15 honors family medicine physicians on the occasion of their Advocacy Day on April 16, 2026, at
16 the Rhode Island State House and expresses its gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the
17 health and well-being of the people of Rhode Island; and be it further
1RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
2 transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the Rhode Island Academy of Family
3 Physicians.
