1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to transportation; appropriating money for improvements at the intersection
1.3of marked U.S. Highway 61 and Washington County State-Aid Highway 32 in
1.4the city of Forest Lake; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6Section 1. FOREST LAKE; U.S. HIGHWAY 61 INTERSECTION
1.7IMPROVEMENTS.
1.8Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $5,500,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.9account in the trunk highway fund to the commissioner of transportation for preliminary
1.10design, final design, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, and construction of improvements
1.11to the intersection of marked U.S. Highway 61 and Washington County State-Aid Highway
1.1232 (11th Avenue) in the city of Forest Lake, including a roundabout and associated
1.13improvements to address safety, accessibility, and other traffic operations issues.
1.14Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.15proceeds account in the trunk highway fund, the commissioner of management and budget
1.16shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount up to $5,500,000 in the manner, upon
1.17the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 167.50 to 167.52,
1.18and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XIV, section 11, at the times and in the amounts
1.19requested by the commissioner of transportation. The proceeds of the bonds, except accrued
1.20interest and any premium received from the sale of the bonds, must be deposited in the bond
1.21proceeds account in the trunk highway fund.
1.22EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.
