Commending Al Madina School of Richmond.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, April 23, 2026
WHEREAS, Al Madina School of Richmond, a private school in Chesterfield County, has served and supported young members of the region's Islamic community for 10 years; and
WHEREAS, Al Madina School of Richmond was established in 2016 through a merger of the Iqra Academy of Virginia and the Tawheed Prep School and remains the only dual accredited Islamic school in the Richmond area; and
WHEREAS, Al Madina School of Richmond seeks to empower students by promoting the Islamic values of honesty, patience, justice, integrity, self-discipline, tolerance, and respect for all creation; and
WHEREAS, Al Madina School of Richmond has cultivated a learning environment that nurtures students and prepares them to use Islamic knowledge as the guiding light for success in all of their endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Al Madina School of Richmond celebrates the diversity of its student body, welcoming young people whose family backgrounds represent 30 different countries around the world; and
WHEREAS, in addition to its rigorous and comprehensive curriculum, Al Madina School of Richmond offers a range of extracurricular activities and promotes civic engagement by taking students to the Virginia State Capitol to meet with elected officials every year; and
WHEREAS, Al Madina School of Richmond will commemorate its milestone 10th anniversary with a special event on April 25, 2026; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Al Madina School of Richmond hereby be commended on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Al Madina School of Richmond as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the school's achievements on behalf of young people in the Richmond community.
