sr984/introduced.txt7564S.01ISENATE RESOLUTION NO. 984NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE CHANGENotice is hereby given by the Senator from the 29thDistrict of the one day notice required by rule of intentto put a motion to adopt the following rule change:BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the One Hundred ThirdGeneral Assembly, Second Regular Session, that Senate Rule 96 beamended to read as follows:"Rule 96. 1. Laptop computers may be used bySenators, Senators' staff and senate staff at the stafftable, by the Secretary of the Senate at the dais, and bythe research staff at the research table in the SenateChamber as long as their use does not violate Rule 78 or isotherwise disruptive to the business of the Senate. Anelectronic device approved by the Committee onAdministration and provided by the Senate that is capable ofmonitoring legislation may be used by a Senator in thechamber. Any such approved electronic device shall not be alaptop computer. No person shall take any photograph in theSenate Gallery. Persons with cameras, flash cameras,lights, or other paraphernalia may be allowed to use suchdevices at committee meetings with the permission of theChairman as long as they do not prove disruptive to thedecorum of the committee. Smoking is not permissible in theSenate Chamber or Gallery, the Kirchoff Gallery, thePershing Gallery, the Bingham Gallery, committee rooms,lounge, the hallways, restrooms or elevators.2. For the purpose of compliance with the Americanswith Disabilities Act, the President Pro Tem may designate aportion of the Senate Chamber as handicap accessible andsuch areas shall not be considered a part of the floor ofthe Senate for the purposes of section 21.420, RSMo.Persons using such area shall not lobby members of the1Senate while going to and from or while using the designatedarea.3. In order to provide members of the public with theopportunity to view the proceedings of the senate when theyare unable to do so in person, the senate shall provide anaudio and video feed of the senate proceedings that shallbe available on the website of the senate. Such audio andvideo feed shall become operational no later than January 1,2027. The senate shall not halt its proceedings if theaudio or video feed of the senate proceedings fails tooperate properly.".2
