two-time Grammy Award nominee Noah Berkenkamp Kahan for his amazing
contributions to American popular music and for creating and leading the Busyhead
Project.

  Whereas, Strafford native Noah Kahan has emerged as a bright light on the popular
American music scene, and
   Whereas, born in 1997, his father and mother, respectively, instructed him in guitar
playing and writing, and, at eight years of age, Noah Kahan started writing songs and
sharing them on social media, developing an audience for his creative oeuvre, and
   Whereas, after graduating from Hanover High School in New Hampshire, Noah
Kahan focused on his musicianship: his breakthrough single “Hurt Somebody” achieved
gold level sales in the United States and sold well internationally; at 20 years of age, he
signed a recording contract with Republic Records; he released his debut album
Busyhead (2019), and later I Was/I Am (2021), and Stick Season (2022) became a
thrilling commercial success, resulting in a Grammy Award nomination for Best New
Artist, and
   Whereas, in July 2024, Noah Kahan impressively played two sold-out concerts at
Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, and, in 2025, the musician’s international
prestige increased with his appearance at England’s famous Glastonbury Festival of
Contemporary Performing Arts, and
   Whereas, there is a second aspect to Noah Kahan’s life—his establishment and
dedicated leadership of the Busyhead Project in 2023, a mental health support initiative
that his own challenges inspired, and
    Whereas, the Busyhead Project offers “resources and information needed to end the
stigma around mental health,” and since its launch, the Busyhead Project has raised over
four million dollars for grants to more than 160 community mental health organizations
worldwide, contributing to its objective to facilitate universal mental health care
access, and
  Whereas, on April 24, 2024, Noah Kahan’s greatly anticipated fourth album, The
Great Divide, will debut for his numerous fans’ listening pleasure, now therefore be it
   Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
  That the General Assembly honors Vermont singer-songwriter and two-time Grammy
Award nominee Noah Berkenkamp Kahan for his amazing contributions to American
popular music and for creating and leading the Busyhead Project, and be it further

  Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
Noah Kahan.
