No. 506704/23/2026 Authored by Liebling and ScottThe bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration1.1A bill for an act1.2relating to legislative enactments; correcting miscellaneous oversights,1.3inconsistencies, ambiguities, unintended results, and technical errors; amending1.4Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 268B.185, subdivision 1.1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:1.6Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 268B.185, subdivision 1, is amended to read:1.7Subdivision 1. Repaying an overpayment. (a) Any applicant who (1) because of a1.8determination or amended determination issued under this chapter, or (2) because of a1.9hearing officer's decision under section 268B.08 268B.081, has received any family or1.10medical leave benefits that the applicant was held not entitled to, is overpaid the benefits1.11and must promptly repay the benefits to the family and medical benefit insurance account.1.12(b) If the applicant fails to repay the benefits overpaid, including any penalty and interest1.13assessed under subdivisions 2 and 4, the total due may be collected by the methods allowed1.14under state and federal law.1.15EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.1.16Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.1.17Unless otherwise provided, each section of this act is effective at the time the provision1.18being corrected is effective.Sec. 2. 1
