No. 507604/27/2026 Authored by RehmThe bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy1.1A bill for an act1.2relating to transportation; appropriating money for safety improvements to marked1.3Trunk Highway 41 in the city of Chanhassen; authorizing the sale and issuance of1.4state bonds.1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:1.6Section 1. CHANHASSEN; MARKED TRUNK HIGHWAY 41.1.7Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $3,500,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds1.8account in the trunk highway fund to the commissioner of transportation for predesign;1.9design; engineering; environmental analysis and mitigation; land acquisition, including1.10easements; and construction of safety improvements, including roundabouts, on marked1.11Trunk Highway 41 from marked Trunk Highway 7 to marked Trunk Highway 5 in the city1.12of Chanhassen. This appropriation is available for a grant to the city of Chanhassen.1.13Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond1.14proceeds account in the trunk highway fund, the commissioner of management and budget1.15shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount up to $3,500,000 in the manner, upon1.16the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 167.50 to 167.52,1.17and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XIV, section 11, at the times and in the amounts1.18requested by the commissioner of transportation. The proceeds of the bonds, except accrued1.19interest and any premium received from the sale of the bonds, must be deposited in the bond1.20proceeds account in the trunk highway fund.1.21EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.Section 1. 1
