(Local)Sponsors:Referred to:April 29, 20261A BILL TO BE ENTITLED2 AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE CITY OF ROCKY MOUNT FROM EXERCISING3 EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OVER CERTAIN DESCRIBED PROPERTIES.4 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:5SECTION 1. Notwithstanding G.S. 160D-202 or any other provision of law, the City6 of Rocky Mount shall not exercise any powers of extraterritorial jurisdiction as provided in7 Article 2 of Chapter 160D of the General Statutes or its predecessor, Article 19 of Chapter 160A8 of the General Statutes, over the territory identified by the following Nash County Parcel9 Identification Numbers: 385214338129U, 385214430568U, and 385214324427U.10SECTION 2. The relinquishment of jurisdiction by the City of Rocky Mount over11 the area identified in Section 1 of this act shall become effective on the date this act becomes12 law. Notwithstanding G.S. 160D-202(h), the property described in Section 1 of this act is subject13 to the planning and development regulation jurisdiction, including the zoning authority, of Nash14 County.15SECTION 3.
