1A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
2 AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO UPDATE THE UTILITIES AND STREET
3     INFRASTRUCTURE AT THE CORNER OF HIGHWAY 49 (NORTH TRYON STREET)
4     AND EASTWAY DRIVE.
5 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
6SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the Highway Fund to the Department of
7 Transportation the sum of two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) in
8 nonrecurring funds for the 2026-2027 fiscal year to be used to update the utilities and street
9 infrastructure at the corner of Highway 49 (North Tryon Street) and Eastway Drive to facilitate
10 the safe crossing of the intersection for pedestrians.
11SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2026.
