Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A senate RESOLUTIONTO EXPRESS PROFOUND SORROW UPON THE PASSING OFEloise Stone Coleman AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANYFRIENDS.Whereas, the members ofthe South Carolina Senate were deeply saddened to learn of the death of EloiseStone Coleman on February 16, 2026; andWhereas, Mrs. Colemanwas born on August 11, 1939, to parents George and Mary Stone; andWhereas, Mrs. Colemanworked for the Fairfield County school district, at McCrorey-Liston School, fornineteen years. After retiring from the school district, she continued her workfor eleven years at the Babcock Home for Special Needs in Blair, where shecared for others with compassion and commitment; andWhereas, a devoutChristian, she was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church for many years. Sheserved with the AP&B Society and the Women's Home Aide Society; andWhereas, Mrs. Colemanenjoyed cooking delicious meals and special dishes for her family and friends.She especially devoted herself to preparing Sunday feasts for her children andgrandchildren, a tradition that brought her immense happiness; andWhereas, she waspreceded in death by her husband, Willie Frank Coleman, her nine siblings,Robert Lee, James, Lily, Ruth, Sammie, George, Thomas, Willie Lee, Annie Mae,and Emma; and her granddaughter, Shell; andWhereas, Mrs. Colemanleaves to cherish her memory her seven children, Wilhelmina (Arthur), Dave(Lisa), Elizabeth, Wilson (Regail), Michael (Trish), Bobby (Ruby), and Thomas;fifteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; tengreat-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extendedfamily members, and friends. She will be greatly missed.
