A house RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE DACIA MOORE OF CHESNEE MIDDLE SCHOOL
UPON BEING NAMED 2026 SOUTH CAROLINA COUNCIL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN
EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AND 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF TEACHER
EDUCATORS COOPERATING TEACHER OF THE YEAR, TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION FOR HER
DEDICATED SERVICE TO CHILDREN, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE.
Whereas, the House of
Representatives is pleased to learn that Chesnee Middle School teacher Dacia
Moore recently has received two coveted honors: the 2026 Exceptional Educator
of the Year Award, given by the South Carolina Council for Exceptional
Children, and the 2025 Cooperating Teacher of the Year Award, conferred by the
South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators (SCATE); and
Whereas, the
Exceptional Educator of the Year Award, bestowed in recognition of an
educator's outstanding contribution to the advancement of exceptional children
and youth, was officially presented at a luncheon held on February 27, 2026, at
the Myrtle Beach Hilton Resort; the Cooperating Teacher of the Year Award was
officially given at the SCATE annual conference on October 4, 2025, the scene
being the organization's awards luncheon, which took place at Coastal Carolina
University; and
Whereas, in addition to
her duties as a special education teacher, Dacia Moore serves Chesnee Middle as
athletic director, head girls basketball coach, and strength and conditioning
coach; and
Whereas, South Carolina
is fortunate to have such committed and caring teachers as Dacia Moore
educating and molding South Carolina's youth; and
Whereas, it is entirely
appropriate for the South Carolina House to pause in its deliberations to honor
Chesnee Middle School teacher Dacia Moore for winning two such high
recognitions and for amply providing her students the opportunity to live
complete and successful lives as outstanding citizens of their communities.
Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the
South Carolina House of Representatives,
by this resolution, congratulate Dacia Moore of Chesnee Middle School upon
being named 2026 South Carolina Council for Exceptional Children Exceptional
Educator of the Year and 2025 South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators Cooperating
Teacher of the Year, express appreciation for her dedicated service to
children, and wish her continued success in the future.
Be it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dacia Moore.
