hjr7023/draft.txt<BillNo> <Sponsor>HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 7023By TravisA RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate Randy Mathis uponbeing named District 4-AAA Coach of the Year.WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to paytribute to those excellent coaches who have led their players to success in athletic competitionand in life; andWHEREAS, one such individual is Randy Mathis, head softball coach at Rhea CountyHigh School and Spring City Middle School, who was recently named District 4-AAA Coach ofthe Year; andWHEREAS, a native of Rhea County, Coach Mathis graduated from Bryan College in2008 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and organizational management; helater obtained his master's degree in special education from Grand Canyon University; andWHEREAS, Randy Mathis led the Rhea County High School softball team to a regular-season record of 20-4; he has coached the high school team since 2018 and the Spring CityMiddle School team since 2013. He also serves as a special education teacher at Rhea CountyHigh School; andWHEREAS, his many accomplishments aside, he is most grateful for the love andsupport of his wife of thirty years, Jamie, and their two children, Skylar Mathis and McKinleyGuthrie; andWHEREAS, Randy Mathis has distinguished himself as a great coach, tactician, andmotivator of young athletes, and we are pleased to recognize him on this most noteworthyoccasion; now, therefore,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDFOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATEHJR7023019165-1-CONCURRING, that we honor and congratulate Randy Mathis upon being named the District 4-AAA Coach of the Year, extending our best wishes for every continued success.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be preparedfor presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made tothe appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appearwithout House or Senate designation.-2- 019165
