No. 8802025-2026Representative GlassburnTo make an appropriation to fully reimburse the 1stipends paid to teachers to complete science of 2reading professional development. 3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:Section 1. All items in this act are hereby appropriated 4as designated out of any moneys in the state treasury to the 5credit of the designated fund. For all operating appropriations 6made in this act, those in the first column are for fiscal year 72026 and those in the second column are for fiscal year 2027. 8The operating appropriations made in this act are in addition to 9any other operating appropriations made for these fiscal years. 10Section 2. 11121 2 3 4 5A EDU DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND WORKFORCEB Dedicated Purpose Fund GroupC 5AQ1 2006A4 Literacy Improvement $6,938,636 $0D Dedicated Purpose Fund Group Total $6,938,636 $0H. No. 880 Page 2As IntroducedE TOTAL ALL BUDGET FUND GROUPS $6,938,636 $0LITERACY IMPROVEMENT 13The foregoing appropriation item 2006A4, Literacy 14Improvement, shall be used to fully reimburse school districts, 15community schools, and STEM schools for stipends paid to 16teachers to complete professional development in the science of 17reading and evidence-based strategies for effective literacy 18instruction under Section 265.330 of H.B. 33 of the 135th 19General Assembly, as amended by H.B. 147 of the 135th General 20Assembly. 21On the effective date of this section, or as soon as 22possible thereafter, the Director of Budget and Management shall 23transfer $1,105,400 cash from the General Revenue Fund to the 24Literacy Improvement Fund (Fund 5AQ1). 25Section 3. Within the limits set forth in this act, the 26Director of Budget and Management shall establish accounts 27indicating the source and amount of funds for each appropriation 28made in this act, and shall determine the manner in which 29appropriation accounts shall be maintained. Expenditures from 30operating appropriations contained in this act shall be 31accounted for as though made in, and are subject to all 32applicable provisions of, H.B. 96 of the 136th General Assembly. 33
