  A RESOLUTION
  Honoring Marilyn’s on receiving a 2026 Made In  1
  America Small Business Award.  2
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly     3
of Ohio are pleased to commend Marilyn's on being presented with a        4
2026 Made In America Small Business Award by FOX Business; and  5
     WHEREAS, This prestigious distinction is, indeed, a fitting  6
tribute to Marilyn's, for it has been built on the highest standards      7
of service and has distinguished itself as a worthy enterprise,  8
earning the respect and esteem of the entire community. The shop is       9
one of only three businesses nationwide being recognized during  10
America's 250th anniversary by FOX Business for the same grit and  11
sacrifice that built the nation, and its noteworthy accomplishments       12
clearly demonstrate the potential of every establishment to have a        13
positive effect on the quality of life in our society. The venture is     14
known throughout the Lake Erie area as a community hub that welcomes      15
all people, and for its generous contributions, including raising  16
funds for youth campers at Lakeside Chautauqua, it is certainly to be     17
applauded; and  18
     WHEREAS, The success of Marilyn's is a justifiable source of pride   19
and a fine reflection not only on the organization itself but also on     20
the astute management of its owner, Marilyn Burns, on its hard-working    21
employees, and on the community. Due to its outstanding effort and        22
initiative, the venture has earned the gratitude and appreciation of      23
many satisfied customers for its local souvenirs, necessary items for     24
vacationers, toys, beach items, and especially its candy wall with new    25
and vintage styles, and this remarkable enterprise is truly deserving     26
of high praise; and  27
    WHEREAS, Ohio's economic prosperity depends on businesses such as     28

Marilyn's, which provide goods and services to the citizens of our  29
state and nation. We are proud to note that it is through the  30
dedicated efforts of individuals such as those associated with the  31
iconic establishment, who are willing to invest in their communities,      32
that our country has continued to grow and prosper; therefore be it        33
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General     34
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Marilyn's      35
on its recent accolade and extend best wishes for the future; and be       36
it further  37
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly  38
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Marilyn's.  39
