HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 306
BY REPRESENTATIVES LYONS AND GREEN
  A RESOLUTION
To commend Brandon Lionel Washington for graduating as valedictorian of the Class of
       2026 at John Ehret High School.
       WHEREAS, Brandon Lionel Washington ranked first among four hundred sixty-four
of his peers with an extraordinary 4.72 GPA, and his success is proof that consistency is the
highest form of excellence; and
       WHEREAS, Brandon is known as "Mr. President" by his peers; he has earned
Student of the Year recognition multiple times and excelled as a dual enrollment student; his
academic path demonstrates that potential is not determined by circumstances, but by
commitment; and
       WHEREAS, Brandon was selected as Homecoming King and earned the
Superintendent's Champion distinction; and
       WHEREAS, Brandon competed on the basketball court throughout high school and
earned a starting position on the baseball team during his senior year; through sports, he
developed an understanding of teamwork, perseverance, and how to perform under pressure;
and
       WHEREAS, Brandon selflessly served with the Kelly KW Foundation, where he
supported fire awareness events and provided aid to the less fortunate in his community; and
       WHEREAS, Brandon's love for music and fashion displays his creativity,
individuality, and genuine spirit; and

       WHEREAS, this fall, Brandon will carry the values forged at John Ehret High School
to Howard University, where he will pursue a degree in biology; and
       WHEREAS, Brandon Lionel Washington is an inspiring young man whose
outstanding achievements warrant the highest recognition.
       THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Brandon Lionel Washington for graduating
as valedictorian of the Class of 2026 at John Ehret High School and does hereby encourage
him to continue his exceptional work and always strive for greatness.
