A senate RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR Coach joshua jennings for his
tenure As Great Falls High School Athletic Director and to Commend him For his
service to his Students, Athletes, and the Great Falls Community.
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Coach Joshua Jennings for his
distinguished tenure as the athletic director at Great Falls High School; and
Whereas, a native of Sumter,
Coach Jennings is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina, Francis
Marion University, Southern New Hampshire University, and Coker University. He
is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Education in Curriculum Studies from the
University of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Coach Jennings
began serving as the athletic director of Great Falls High School in June 2023.
As athletic director, he has presided over one hundred student athletes being
named to the All -Academic Team for earning all As and Bs during their
in-season coursework, twenty six student athletes being named to All-Region
teams, with three of those students earning All-State honors, three region
championships, one Upper State Championship, an undefeated middle school
football team and every sports team qualifying for the playoffs in the past
year alone; and
Whereas, a civic
leader, Coach Jennings has served with many community organizations, including
as Chair of the School Improvement Council at Great Falls High School and as an
alumni ambassador for Teach for America; and
Whereas, over the
years, Coach Jennings has received a number of honors and awards, including Region
2-1A Athletic Director the Year, Great Falls Teacher of the Year, Forms and
Supply Incorporated All Star Teacher, Holocaust Educator of Excellence, and the
Sumter Item 20 Under 40 Award; and
Whereas, Coach Jennings
has played an instrumental role in his students' success inside and outside of
the classroom, demonstrating a deep dedication to their athletic, academic, and
personal growth; and
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedication and commitment that
Coach Jennings has shown in serving the people and the State of South
Carolina.  Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the
South Carolina Senate, by this resolution,
recognize and honor Coach Joshua Jennings for his tenure as Great Falls High School
Athletic Director and commend him for his service to his students, athletes,
and the Great Falls community.
Be it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Joshua Jennings.
