Mautino on the4occasion of his retirement following a decade of distinguished5service as Illinois Auditor General; and6 WHEREAS, Frank Mautino was born in Spring Valley on August77, 1962; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from8Illinois State University in 1984 and rose to the position of9Corporate Brand Manager in his family's beverage distribution10business, Mautino Distributing Company, Inc., before beginning11a career dedicated to the people of Illinois when he succeeded12his late father, Richard Mautino, as a state representative;13and14 WHEREAS, Prior to his appointment as Auditor General,15Frank Mautino served with distinction for 24 years in the16Illinois House of Representatives, where he held the vital17post of Deputy Majority Leader and budget negotiator,18championing issues of fiscal responsibility and19sustainability; and20 WHEREAS, Frank Mautino served on the Legislative Audit21Commission for 18 years during his legislative tenure,22including 12 years as co-chairman, where he reviewedHR0927 - 2 - LRB104 21948 RMO 37888 r1approximately 2,000 audits and 10,000 findings, developing a2deep respect for the oversight role of the legislative branch;3and4 WHEREAS, Since assuming the office of Illinois Auditor5General in 2016, Frank Mautino has led the institution with6integrity and professionalism, overseeing the completion of7hundreds of audits, including 1,200 financial, compliance, and8single audits and 200 information technology and cyber9security audits; and10 WHEREAS, Frank Mautino's leadership has safeguarded11taxpayer dollars, strengthened accountability, and maintained12the Office of the Auditor General's reputation for nonpartisan13excellence, ensuring that State agencies operate effectively14and in accordance with the law; and15 WHEREAS, Frank Mautino's 34-year career in State16government has spanned the terms of six Governors, seven17Comptrollers, and five Treasurers, marking a historic chapter18of service and dedication to good governance; and19 WHEREAS, Throughout his demanding career, Frank Mautino20has been supported by his loving family, including his wife,21Lena, and their three children, Pietro "Peter" Joseph, Luciana22Christina, and James Michael, as well as his late mother Joan,HR0927 - 3 - LRB104 21948 RMO 37888 r1sister Julia, and brother Richie; therefore, be it2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE3HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that4we congratulate Frank J.
