Municipalities and Regional Government. [Local Approval Received.]The Commonwealth of Massachusetts_______________In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court(2025-2026)_______________An Act relative to amending the town charter of the town of Provincetown.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authorityof the same, as follows:1SECTION 1. Section 3 of chapter 2 of the charter of the town of Provincetown, which is2 on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter3 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out subsections (g) and (h) and inserting4 in place thereof the following subsection:-5(g) At least 7 days prior to any town meeting, the finance committee shall provide a6 report detailing their votes on each warrant article concerning the expenditure of town funds. The7 finance committee report shall be posted on the town website and made available for distribution8 in the town clerk's office at the town hall. Sufficient copies for the expected attendance shall also9 be made available at the town meeting the day it opens.10SECTION 2. Subsection (b) of section 1 of chapter 5 of said charter is hereby amended11 by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- Non-12 regulatory appointed town boards may also be created, combined, dissolved or reorganized by a1 of 213 majority vote of the select board, unless otherwise prohibited by law or this charter, but such14 boards shall be ad hoc or temporary advisory boards, unless and until ratified by a majority vote15 of town meeting.16SECTION 3. Subsection (b) of section 4 of said chapter 5 of said charter is hereby17 amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-18 A paid town employee may not be a member of any regulatory board or any town board that19 oversees matters in any way related to their employment, during the time of their employment.20SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.2 of 2
