                                 A RESOLUTION
1 Commending and congratulating Olivia Dover; and for other purposes.
2 WHEREAS, Olivia Dover has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the most distinguished rank
3 conferred by Scouting America; and
4 WHEREAS, a candidate for the most exceptional award in scouting must complete a
5 rigorous program of training and demonstrate her proficiency in selected scouting techniques
6 and the attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and
7 WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty level of achievement, and Olivia
8 has ably evidenced her aptitude and competency in mastering the various special skills taught
9 through the Scouts BSA program; and
10 WHEREAS, this hard-working young woman has demonstrated great leadership skills and
11 initiative and has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of honesty and
12 fairness during her years with the Scouts BSA program; and
13 WHEREAS, a founding member of Troop 651, Olivia designed and led the construction of
14 a stepping stone pathway at the Spalding Corners Swim and Tennis Association, creating a

15 welcoming path for neighborhood and guest swim teams to use during summer swim meets
16 to get to the pool deck for their events; and
17 WHEREAS, the perseverance and determination displayed by this exceptional young leader
18 set an example for all Georgians, and great success is surely in this young woman's future.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
20 the members of this body commend Olivia Dover for her diligence and dedication in
21 pursuing the highest honor awarded by Scouting America and congratulate her on attaining
22 the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Olivia
25 Dover.
