An Act relative to the retirement benefits of the surviving spouse of the Honorable Francis
Flannery.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to
secure retirement benefits for the surviving spouse of the Honorable Francis Flannery, therefore
it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 Notwithstanding chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to
2 the contrary, the state retirement board shall deem the Honorable Francis Flannery qualified for a
3 pension under section 65D of said chapter 32. Julia Flannery, the surviving spouse of the
4 Honorable Francis Flannery, shall be eligible to receive the benefit described by section 65C of
5 said chapter 32.
