    3165) of John F. Keenan and Mark J. Cusack (by vote of the town) for legislation to authorize
    the town of Holbrook to appoint Patrick Doherty as a firefighter notwithstanding the maximum

    An Act authorizing the town of Holbrook to appoint Patrick Doherty as a firefighter
    notwithstanding the maximum age requirement.
  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
    of the same, as follows:
1  SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 58A of chapter 31 of the General Laws or any
2   other general or special law to the contrary, the Town of Holbrook may appoint Patrick Doherty
3   as a firefighter in the Holbrook Fire Department, provided that he satisfies all other requirements
4   for appointment as determined by the Town of Holbrook, the Human Resources Division, the
5   Civil Service Commission, and any other applicable authority.
6  SECTION 2. Except as otherwise provided herein, Patrick Doherty shall be subject to all
7   laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, qualifications and standards applicable to
8   firefighters employed by the Town of Holbrook.
9  SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
