sb5342/introduced-in-senate.txt119 S5342 IS: To require a report on the advisability and feasibility of establishing a Drone Center of Excellence within the Army National Guard.U.S. Senate2026-08-06text/xmlENPursuant to Title 17 Section 105 of the United States Code, this file is not subject to copyright protection and is in the public domain.II 119th CONGRESS 2d Session S. 5342 IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES August 6, 2026 Ms. Slotkin introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Armed Services A BILLTo require a report on the advisability and feasibility of establishing a Drone Center of Excellence within the Army National Guard.1.Report on establishment of Drone Center of Excellence within Army National Guard(a)In generalNot later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Army shall submit to the Committee on Armed Services of the Senate and the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives a report on the advisability and feasibility of establishing a Drone Center of Excellence within the Army National Guard at a National Guard training site.(b)ElementsThe report required under subsection (a) shall consider performance of the following functions at the potential Center of Excellence:(1)Certification of operators of unmanned aerial systems during annual training periods.(2)Development of doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures for the operation of such systems.(3)Experimentation on integrating artificial intelligence applications for target recognition and real-time situational awareness into the operation of such systems.(4)Conduct of force-on-force unmanned aerial systems exercises, including brigade-level drone wars experimentation integrated with infantry, armor, and joint formations.
