A senate RESOLUTION
to congratulate positive vibes Ronjanae Smith Inc. upon
the occasion of its fifth anniversary and to commend the organization on its
outstanding commitment to gun violence prevention, community empowerment, and
public service.
Whereas, Positive Vibes
Ronjanae Smith Inc. was established in loving memory of Ronjanae Smith, the
14-year-old daughter of founder Ronald Smith, whose life was tragically taken
by gun violence in May 2021; and
Whereas, through
unimaginable loss, Ronald Smith transformed grief into purpose by creating an
organization dedicated to educating, empowering, and engaging communities in
the fight against gun violence while providing hope and healing, as well as
offering programs designed to give individuals and families the tools and
resources they need to thrive; and
Whereas, for the past
five years, Positive Vibes Ronjanae Smith Inc. has demonstrated unwavering
leadership and compassion by offering mentorship programs, conflict resolution
training, mental health resources, grief support, workforce development
opportunities, educational initiatives, youth engagement, and community
outreach designed to strengthen neighborhoods and improve lives; and
Whereas, the
organization has become a trusted advocate for violence prevention by fostering
partnerships with community leaders, educators, businesses, faith
organizations, law enforcement, and public officials to advance collaborative
solutions that create safer and stronger communities; and
Whereas, Ronald Smith
has dedicated himself to ensuring that Ronjanae's legacy continues through
service, advocacy, and prevention, inspiring countless individuals to resolve
conflict peacefully, invest in young people, and work collectively to reduce
gun violence throughout the Lowcountry and beyond; and
Whereas, through the
establishment of Positive Vibes Interrupter to Violence, Mr. Smith has further
expanded his commitment to implementing innovative, community-led strategies
that address the root causes of violence while promoting healing,
accountability, and opportunity; and
Whereas, on Saturday,
July 18, 2026, the Sneaker Legacy & Culture Gala marked the fifth
anniversary of Positive Vibes Ronjanae Smith Inc. under the theme "Celebrating
5 years of Impact. Building the Next 5 years," recognizing the organization's
remarkable accomplishments and reaffirming its commitment to creating lasting
change for future generations; and
Whereas, Positive Vibes
Ronjanae Smith Inc. has become a beacon of hope by promoting violence
prevention, fostering positive opportunities for youth and families, and
inspiring community engagement that strengthens neighborhoods and improves the
quality of life for all citizens. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the
Senate:
That the members of the
South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Positive Vibes Ronjanae
Smith Inc. upon the occasion of its fifth anniversary and commend the
organization on its outstanding commitment to gun violence prevention,
community empowerment, and public service.
Be it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Ronald Smith.
