Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A house RESOLUTIONTO EXPRESS PROFOUND SORROW UPON THE PASSING OFJOSEPH MCCANTS AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANYFRIENDS.Whereas, many weredeeply saddened to learn of the passing of Joseph McCants at the venerable ageof seventy-eight on August 13, 2026; andWhereas, the belovedson of Johnny McCants and Moudina Geiger, Joseph McCants was born on September23, 1947, in Blythewood; andWhereas, Mr. McCantswas educated in the Lugoff-Elgin School District. He was a dedicated employeeat Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and St. John Neumann School for more thanforty-five years until his health began to decline in 2023. Mr. McCants was afaithful member of the Brookland Baptist Church, West Columbia Campus, for manyyears; andWhereas, Joseph McCantswas preceded in death by his parents, Johnny McCants and Moudina Geiger; hisbrothers Henry Louis McCants, William McCants, and John Edward McCants; hissister Hurdesene White; his daughter Titonia McCants-Craft; and his son-in-lawMinister Otis Mckie Jr.; andWhereas, Mr. McCantsleaves to cherish his memory his partner, Willie Mae Wilson; his children,Stacey McCants-Mckie, Emily McCants-Lanham (Darrell), Margaret Jeneall Jamison,Michelle Peay (Shawn), Henry Wilson (Renee), and Timothy Wilson (Kisha); hissister Clara Hudson; his brothers Woodrow McCants (Renee) and Elijah McCants;and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He willbe missed.
