Wesley Virdell's shoulder, leading to a late-night visit to a local hospital, and Veteran Rep.Briscoe Cain's face, stemming from an improbable spinning touchdownattempt rarely seen outside professional sports; andWHEREAS, Heroes arose on both teams, such as the leapingacrobatics of freshman Rep. Daniel Alders, and the sweetness of thejukes and ankles broken by Veteran Rep. Ramon Romero; andWHEREAS, As the clock expired, one team stood victorious-TheTexas House Freshmen; andWHEREAS, Veterans like Rep. Matt Shaheen and David Cookattempted to turn back the tide of inevitability with determinedon-the-field playmaking, it was simply too late; andWHEREAS, The triumphant Texas House Freshmen may have much tolearn about the ways of the Texas House, and the art of passinglegislation-from knowing when to take timeouts and knowing when togo for it on Fourth Down; andWHEREAS, The Freshman House Team took pity on the seniorsquad, fielding an all-female lineup in the concluding plays of thegame; andWHEREAS, The final seconds ticked away, with them, so did theexuberant smack talk of the old-timers; so be itRESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives of the 89thTexas Legislature hereby recognizes the achievements of the HouseFreshmen, winning the first such game against the pensionedVeterans in twelve years.PiersonBurrowsGuerraMorales ShawAldersGuillenMorganAllenHarlessMuñozAnchíaHarrisNobleAshbyHarris DavilaOlcottBarryHarrisonOliversonBell of KaufmanHayesOrdazBell of MontgomeryHefnerOrrBernalHernandezPattersonBhojaniHicklandPaulBonnenHinojosaPerez of El PasoBowersHoltPerez of HarrisBryantHopperPhelanBuckleyHowardPiersonBucyHullPlesaBumgarnerHunterRaymondButtonIsaacReynoldsCainJohnsonRichardsonCamposJones of DallasRodríguez RamosCanalesJones of HarrisRomeroCapriglioneKerwinRoseColeKingRosenthalCollierKitzmanSchatzlineCookLaHoodSchofieldCortezLalaniSchoolcraftCraddickLambertShaheenCunninghamLandgrafShofnerCurryLeachSimmonsDarbyLeo WilsonSlawsonA.
