7 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to create an
8 Inclusive Schools Protection Fund to offset reductions in federal funding for
9 inclusive programs, prioritizing LGBTQ+ student support programs,
10 antidiscrimination initiatives, inclusive curriculum development, and training
11 for educators on equity and inclusivity; to provide direct funding to school
12 districts for inclusive programs; to protect funding for gender and sexuality
13 alliances, equity coordinators in schools, and mental health and antibullying
14 programs targeting marginalized students; to task the Agency of Education
15 with reporting annually on the efficacy of the State’s funding efforts to support
16 inclusivity; and to develop alternative revenue streams to supplement the
17 Inclusive Schools Protection Fund.
