House concurrent resolution congratulating Montgomery runner ElinorPurrier St. Pierre on her outstanding athletic achievement at the 2024 ParisOlympics.(H.C.R.29)Offered by All Members of the HouseOffered by Senators Brock and NorrisWhereas, Elle Purrier St. Pierre has experienced great success in national andinternational running competitions, admirably exhibiting a dual dedication to her sportand to the cherished family farm life she joyfully shares with her husband, Jamie Purrier,and their young son, Ivan, andWhereas, Vermonters first took notice of this gifted runner when she was a member ofRichford High School’s 2013 Division IV girls track and field team, and at the Universityof New Hampshire, Elle St. Pierre earned all-American running honors on 11 occasionsand clocked the second fastest ever NCAA woman’s time for the indoor one mile, andWhereas, in 2020, at the New York Runners Wanamaker Mile, she set the Americanrecord for this same event; in 2021, at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, Elle PurrierSt. Pierre set the women’s American indoor two mile record; and in 2022, she won thesilver medal in the women’s 3000m (Indoor) at the world championships, andWhereas, Elle Purrier St. Pierre has twice achieved the greatest athletic honor of beingnamed to the 2020 and 2024 U.S. Olympic teams, andWhereas, running in the women’s 1500m, she earned tenth place in the final round inTokyo in 2021 (the Olympics having been delayed from 2020), and in Paris in 2024, EllePurrier St. Pierre secured an improved eighth-place final round finish, and she can beextremely proud of these personal running milestones, now therefore be itResolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:That the General Assembly congratulates Montgomery runner Elinor Purrier St. Pierreon her outstanding athletic achievement at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and be it furtherResolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution toElle Purrier St. Pierre.VT LEG #382060 v.1
