1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to education; appropriating money for suicide prevention curriculum.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.5Subdivision 1. Department of Health. The sum indicated in this section is appropriated
1.6from the general fund to the Department of Health for the fiscal year designated.
1.7Subd. 2. Suicide prevention curriculum. (a) For a grant to the Division of Indian Work
1.8to develop suicide prevention curriculum:
1.9$  .......    ..... 2026
1.10(b) The Division of Indian Work must use the grant award to develop and pilot culturally
1.11specific suicide prevention curriculum for Native American youth. The curriculum must
1.12engage students in topics of mental health, emotional intelligence, and depression and suicide
1.13to increase understanding of mental wellness and provide practical tools for supporting
1.14themselves and others through painful times.
1.15(c) This is a onetime appropriation.
