Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A house RESOLUTIONTO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE Chesnee High School girlsstrength TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TOCONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE 2024 SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AA STATECHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.Whereas, the SouthCarolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of theChesnee girls' strength team of Spartanburg County captured the South CarolinaClass AA Strength Team Championship title at the female strength team statecompetition, which was held at Blythewood High School on November 9, 2024; andWhereas, to the delightof their growing list of fans, the Chesnee Lady Eagles defeated a competitive fieldof opponents with a score of 13 points. Their nearest challenger wasChesterfield High School scoring only 8 points; andWhereas, Lady EaglesOlivia Tolleson, Bixley Koon, and Liana Kreydich, each scored 3 points each;teammate Emma Barrington scored 2 points, and Hayden Roberts and Maggie Blantonscored 1 point each; andWhereas, in strength teamcompetitions, athletes placing first, second, third, and fourth in theirrespective events are recognized on the podium. Chesnee's podium athletesincluded MerriElizabeth Cable who placed third in her event and OliviaTolleson, Bixley Koon, and Liana Kreydich, who each placed fourth in theirs;andWhereas, the victorywas made all the sweeter because this win was the first AA Strength TeamChampionship ever offered by the South Carolina High School Strength CoachesAssociation at a state female strength meet; andWhereas, in a sportthat requires individual determination, strength, and perseverance, Head CoachDavid Jones and his skilled coaching staff used their own athletic experienceand training to forge a championship-caliber team and teach these athletes lifeprinciples that will endure far beyond the mats; andWhereas, the SouthCarolina House of Representatives values the pride and recognition that the Chesneestrength team members have brought to their school and their community, and theHouse looks forward to following the team's continued achievements in the daysahead.
