No. 106R E S O L U T I O NWHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with thepassing of Linda Joyce Cox on July 21, 2025, at the age of 74; andWHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Tilt," the former LindaMurphree was born to Dale Allen and Jimmy L. Murphree in Jonesboro,Arkansas, on November 9, 1950, and she grew up with thecompanionship of two siblings, Nancy and Jim; andWHEREAS, In all her endeavors, she benefited from the loveand support of her husband, Lucky, and she took great pride in herchildren, Nick, Dawnn, and Dillon; over the years, she had thepleasure of welcoming into her family six grandchildren; andWHEREAS, A passionate community advocate, Mrs. Cox made ameaningful difference in the lives of countless children, families,and other individuals in need through her contributions to Tilt'sToy Run, Wishing on the Lone Star, and the Special Needs Prom; shealso organized a number of other local events, and she helpedcollect and distribute donations for people experiencinghomelessness; andWHEREAS, Mrs. Cox enjoyed traveling the open road on herHarley-Davidson motorcycle, and she shared lifelong bonds with aclose-knit community of bikers; in addition, she operated a boothat the Texas State Fair; andWHEREAS, Admired for her creativity, kindness, andgenerosity, Linda Cox brightened the world for all who knew her, andshe will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now,therefore, be itRESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th TexasLegislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life ofLinda Joyce Cox and extend sincere condolences to the members of herfamily: to her husband, Lucky Cox; to her children, Nick and hispartner, Kim, Dawnn, and Dillon; to her sister, Nancy; to hernieces, Jennifer, Michelle, Rachael, and Heather; to hergrandchildren, Haygen, Leeland, Whitten, Aubriella, Leo, andJoann; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be itfurtherRESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution beprepared for her family and that when the Texas House ofRepresentatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Linda Cox.Bowers______________________________Speaker of the HouseI certify that H.R.
