No. 170R E S O L U T I O NWHEREAS, Hays County Food Bank celebrated the grand openingof its new headquarters in San Marcos on August 27, 2025; andWHEREAS, Established in 1984, Hays County Food Bank works toaddress hunger in the community; distributing mainly rescued anddonated food, the organization reduces waste by keeping good foodout of landfills, and it also offers nutrition education throughpartnerships with local schools; andWHEREAS, The new distribution center will help Hays CountyFood Bank better meet the needs of its clients, with increased spacefor food storage and services as well as a new business model thatallows visitors to select their own proteins, produce, andshelf-stable items in a market-style setting; andWHEREAS, For more than four decades, Hays County Food Bankhas been a critical lifeline for local residents facingmalnourishment, and its impressive new facility is sure to be aninvaluable community resource for years to come; now, therefore, beitRESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th TexasLegislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the opening ofthe new Hays County Food Bank headquarters and extend to all thoseinvolved with the organization sincere best wishes for continuedsuccess with their important work; and, be it furtherRESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution beprepared for the food bank as an expression of high regard by theTexas House of Representatives.Zwiener______________________________Speaker of the HouseI certify that H.R.
