IC 9-18.5-37 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE28 AS A NEW CHAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE29 JULY 1, 2026]:30 Chapter 37. Epilepsy Foundation Trust License Plates31 Sec. 1. The bureau shall design and issue an epilepsy foundation32 trust license plate. The epilepsy foundation trust license plate shall33 be designed and issued as a special group recognition license plate34 under IC 9-18.5-12 and must include the following:35(1) A basic design for the plate, with consecutive numbers or36letters, or both, to properly identify the vehicle.37(2) A background design, an emblem, or colors that designate38the license plate as an epilepsy foundation trust license plate.39(3) Any other information the bureau considers necessary.40 Sec. 2. A person that is eligible to register a vehicle under this41 title is eligible to receive an epilepsy foundation trust license plate42 under this chapter upon doing the following:2026 IN 1171—LS 6233/DI 13731(1) Completing an application for an epilepsy foundation trust2license plate.3(2) Paying the fees under section 3 of this chapter.4 Sec. 3. (a) The bureau shall collect the following fees for an5 epilepsy foundation trust license plate:6(1) An annual supplemental fee of fifteen dollars ($15) under7IC 9-18.5-12-16.8(2) An annual fee of not more than twenty-five dollars ($25)9under IC 9-18.5-12-14(d)(2) or IC 9-18.5-12-15(b).10 (b) The bureau shall collect the annual fee described in11 subsection (a)(2) and deposit the annual fee in the epilepsy12 foundation trust fund established by section 4 of this chapter.13 Sec. 4. (a) The epilepsy foundation trust fund is established.14 (b) The treasurer of state shall invest the money in the epilepsy15 foundation trust fund not currently needed to meet the obligations16 of the epilepsy foundation trust fund in the same manner as other17 public trust funds are invested. Interest that accrues from these18 investments shall be deposited in the epilepsy foundation trust19 fund.20 (c) The bureau shall administer the epilepsy foundation trust21 fund. Expenses of administering the epilepsy foundation trust fund22 shall be paid from money in the epilepsy foundation trust fund.23 (d) The bureau shall distribute at least one (1) time each month24 the money from the epilepsy foundation trust fund to the Epilepsy25 Foundation Indiana.26 (e) Money in the epilepsy foundation trust fund at the end of the27 state fiscal year does not revert to the state general fund.2026 IN 1171—LS 6233/DI 137
