                                11   MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE
                                12   UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO DEVELOP AND EXPAND PHYSICIAN
                                13   RESIDENCY POSITIONS IN MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED RURAL COMMUNITIES.

                                15   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
                                16        SECTION 1.   APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars

                                17   ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board

                                18   of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in
                                19   fiscal years 2027 through 2029 for the university of New
                                20   Mexico's graduate medical education program to assist hospitals
                                21   in the state to develop and expand physician residencies in
                                22   family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology and
                                23   pediatrics in medically underserved rural areas of the state.
                                24   Any unexpended balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2029
                                25   shall revert to the general fund.
