Printed 2/18/26--S.Read the first time February 12, 2026________A concurrent RESOLUTIONTo request the Department of Transportation name theportion of Squire Road in the City of Rock Hill in York County from itsintersection with Ogden Road to its intersection with Falls Road "ArchbishopB.R. Wilson memorial Road" and erect appropriate markers or signs at thislocation containing these words.Whereas, ArchbishopB.R. Wilson, a humble yet mighty man of valor, completed his earthly labors onJuly 15, 2025, at the venerable age of sixty-eight. Born on November 12, 1956,in Rock Hill, he dedicated his life to the service of God's kingdom, faithfullyministering to others with compassion, wisdom, and strength; andWhereas, he was thedevoted husband of Phyllis Thomasson, and together they shared a beautiful lifefilled with faith and family. In God's time, they were blessed with four children,Mario, Isaac, Taurice, and Sharita, and eight grandchildren, who were the joyof his heart; andWhereas, in preparationfor his life's work, Archbishop Wilson earned his diploma from Rock Hill HighSchool, followed by a bachelor's degree in social science from ClaflinUniversity, a bachelor's degree in religious education from Mid-Atlantic BibleCollege, and a master's degree in Christian psychology from CornerstoneUniversity. Further theological studies ensued at Erskine Theological Seminary,Reformed Theological Seminary, and Winthrop University. At the time of hispassing, he was pursuing a doctorate in theological studies through programsheld at Harvard and Yale universities; andWhereas, over thecourse of his ministerial journey, he served the Lord's people in various ways.He preached his initial sermon at Nazareth Baptist Church in Rock Hill in 1985,served as pastor of Boyd Hill Baptist Church in Rock Hill from 1986 to 1998,founded Gethsemane Church in Rock Hill in 1998, and established Churches UnitedFellowship Inc. in 2004; andWhereas, further,Archbishop Wilson extended his ministry beyond the pulpit. He served faithfullyas a counselor with the Department of Mental Health, chaplain for the Rock HillPolice Department, hospice counselor and chaplain for Agape Care of Rock Hill,and grief counselor for Parker's Funeral Home; andWhereas, for more thantwo and a half decades, Archbishop Wilson led God's people with bold faith,integrity, and unconditional love. He preached salvation, deliverance, andhealing and stood by families in times of joy and sorrow. He dedicated babies,united couples in marriage, laid loved ones to rest, and ushered new ministersinto their calling with grace and spiritual authority; andWhereas, ArchbishopWilson's legacy is one of tireless service, spiritual leadership, andunwavering commitment to the advancement of God's kingdom. His mission wasalways clear: to build up others, both ministers and ministries, and to nurturethe body of Christ. He now rests in eternal peace, having fought the goodfight, finished his course, and kept the faith; andWhereas, it would befitting and proper to honor the legacy of this great man of God by having aroad in the City of Rock Hill dedicated in his memory. Now, therefore,Be it resolved by the Houseof Representatives, the Senate concurring:That the members of theSouth Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, request the Department ofTransportation name the portion of Squire Road in the City of Rock Hill in YorkCounty from its intersection with Ogden Road to its intersection with FallsRoad "Archbishop B.R.
