Section 30-16-1 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1963,16 Chapter 303, Section 16-1, as amended) is amended to read:[bracketed material] = delete17 "30-16-1. LARCENY.--underscored material = new18 A. Larceny consists of the stealing of anything of19 value that belongs to another.20 B. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the21 property stolen is two hundred fifty dollars ($250) or less is22 guilty of a petty misdemeanor.23 C. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the24 property stolen is over two hundred fifty dollars ($250) but25 not more than five hundred dollars ($500) is guilty of a.232858.1GLG1 misdemeanor.2 D. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the3 property stolen is over five hundred dollars ($500) but not4 more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) is guilty5 of a fourth degree felony.6 E. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the7 property stolen is over two thousand five hundred dollars8 ($2,500) but not more than twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) is9 guilty of a third degree felony.10 F. Whoever commits larceny when the value of the11 property stolen is over twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) is12 guilty of a second degree felony.13 G. Whoever commits larceny when the property of14 value stolen is livestock is guilty of a third degree felony15 regardless of its value.16 H.
