No. R-221. House concurrent resolution congratulating the 2025 Essex High School
Hornets on winning the State boys’ volleyball championship.

   Whereas, in recent years, the Essex Hornets boys’ volleyball team’s skill has been
reconfirmed repeatedly with the school’s five-time representation in the State
championship game, but, regrettably, victory always eluded them, and
   Whereas, in 2025, the team’s fortunes changed as first-seeded and undefeated Essex
again earned a championship berth and faced the second-ranked Mount Mansfield Union
High School Cougars in a contest at St. Michael’s College in Colchester, and
  Whereas, in a tightly played first set, Essex emerged on top 25–22, although the
Cougars rebounded in the second set 25–18, guaranteeing at least a fourth set of play, and
   Whereas, in the third set, the reenergized Hornets proceeded to defeat the Cougars
convincingly 25–15, and despite a final Cougar surge, Essex prevailed 25–22 in the
fourth set, clinching a 3–1 game victory and the long-awaited first State crown, and
  Whereas, the jubilant Hornets (16–0), who emerged triumphant, were Coen Giles,
Thomas Trombley, Maxim Katsnelson, Aaditya Pradhan, Riley Anger, Malx Eckman,
Cooper Yandow, Rohan Rai, Gregory Maiberger, Ishack Magar, Patrick Jordan, Evan
Hughes, and Lorenzo Ayoub, and
   Whereas, cohead coaches Dylan Lamere and Gary Randall proved great strategists for
the team, now therefore be it
   Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
  That the General Assembly congratulates the 2025 Essex High School Hornets on
winning the State boys’ volleyball championship, and be it further
   Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
Essex High School.
