Requires the Department of Public Health to issue a notification to public officials when a hospital, medical facility, nursing home, rehabilitation center, or any other health care facility licensed by the State fails any kind of federally required or State-required inspection or fails to pay State taxes. Provides that the Department shall publish a report quarterly, on a publicly accessible website, of all hospitals, medical facilities, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and any other health care facilities licensed by the State that have failed any kind of federally required or State-required inspection or failed to pay State taxes.LRB104 18337 BAB 31777 bA BILL FORSB3359 LRB104 18337 BAB 31777 b1 AN ACT concerning regulation.2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,3 represented in the General Assembly:4 Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and5 Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is6 amended by adding Section 2310-750 as follows:7 (20 ILCS 2310/2310-750 new)8 Sec. 2310-750. Notification and report for failed9 inspections and tax delinquency.10 (a) The Department shall issue a notification when a11 hospital, medical facility, nursing home, rehabilitation12 center, or any other health care facility licensed by the13 State fails any kind of federally required or State-required14 inspection or fails to pay State taxes.15 (b) The notification shall be sent via email or mail to16 public officials, including:17 (1) the mayor or village president of the municipality18 in which the facility resides;19 (2) the State senator of the district in which the20 facility resides;21 (3) the State representative of the district in which22 the facility resides; and23 (4) the administrative office of the facility.SB3359 - 2 - LRB104 18337 BAB 31777 b1 (c) The Department shall publish a report quarterly, on a2 publicly accessible website, of all hospitals, medical3 facilities, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and any4 other health care facilities licensed by the State that have5 failed any kind of federally required or State-required6 inspection or failed to pay State taxes, including, but not7 limited to, the type of inspection failed, the amount of any8 State taxes that remain unpaid at the end of the quarter, and9 any steps the facility has taken or will take to remedy the10 failure.
Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Public Health to issue a notification to public officials when a hospital, medical facility, nursing home, rehabilitation center, or any other health care facility licensed by the State fails any kind of federally required or State-required inspection or fails to pay State taxes.
