Adriane JohnsonSYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:20 ILCS 605/605-1119 newAmends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity shall establish the Small Business Stabilization Grant Program to provide grants to eligible small businesses experiencing financial hardship. Effective immediately.LRB104 19653 HLH 33102 bA BILL FORSB3339 LRB104 19653 HLH 33102 b1 AN ACT concerning State government.2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,3 represented in the General Assembly:4 Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic5 Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois6 is amended by adding Section 605-1119 as follows:7 (20 ILCS 605/605-1119 new)8 Sec. 605-1119. Small Business Stabilization Grant Program.9 (a) The Department shall establish the Small Business10 Stabilization Grant Program to provide grants to eligible11 small businesses experiencing financial hardship, as12 determined by the Department by rule.13 (b) Subject to appropriation, grants under this Section14 shall not exceed $25,000 per business and may be used for15 working capital, payroll, rent, utilities, or equipment16 expenses.17 (c) The Department shall give priority to businesses with18 fewer than 10 employees and businesses located in economically19 distressed areas of the State.20 (d) The Department may adopt rules necessary to implement21 this Section.22 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect uponSB3339 - 2 - LRB104 19653 HLH 33102 b1 becoming law.
