hr35/introduced.txt*HR1532*Introduced VersionHOUSERESOLUTION No. ___Introduced by: Davis____________________________________1A HOUSE RESOLUTION congratulating the Whiteland2 Community High School girls wrestling team.3Whereas, The Whiteland Community High School girls4 wrestling team won the team state championship at the 20265 IHSAA girls wrestling state finals, claiming the school's6 first-ever team state championship in any sport;7Whereas, The Whiteland girls wrestling team was ranked8 first in the state and had a tournament-best eight qualifiers9 participating in the finals;10Whereas, Whiteland finished the state finals with two11 individual state champions crowned, six state placers overall12 and four wrestlers finishing in the top three, amassing 99.513 points ahead of runner-up Crown Point, third-place finisher14 Hobart, and last year's team state champion Columbus East;20262399HR 1532/DI 140 202621Whereas, Sophomore Kaitlynn Fouty won her state title at2 100 pounds after winning a 5-3 decision over Center Grove to3 cap off an undefeated season, sophomore Mikayla Perkins4 claimed hers at 120 pounds with a 13-8 decision over Rossville,5 and they became the first athletes from Whiteland in girls'6 sports to win a state championship;7Whereas, A runner-up finish by freshman Moriah Morphet8 at 115 pounds, sophomore Marli Woods taking third at 1309 pounds, and sophomore Kahlyn Fouty at 125 pounds and junior10 Marin Wiggington at 155 pounds, both taking sixth place in11 their weight classes, propelled the team to its state finals12 victory;13Whereas, The individual wins and the overall team victory14 highlight the hard work and dedication these female athletes15 have invested in their sport; and16Whereas, Girls wrestling is only in its second year as an17 IHSAA-sanctioned sport, and the Whiteland team has shown18 they are formidable opponents and will remain a dominant19 team in the new sport: Therefore,20Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the21General Assembly of the State of Indiana:22 SECTION 1.
