hr34/introduced.txt*HR1533*Introduced VersionHOUSERESOLUTION No. ___Introduced by: Goss-Reaves____________________________________1A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring the Indiana Wesleyan2 University women's volleyball team and Head Coach Candace3 Moats.4Whereas, The Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats have5 achieved extraordinary success on the national stage,6 demonstrating excellence in women's volleyball through7 athletic competition and teamwork;8Whereas, Under the inspirational leadership of Head Coach9 Candace Moats, who dedicated more than two decades to the10 Indiana Wesleyan University program and more than forty11 years to collegiate volleyball coaching, the Wildcats built a12 tradition of sustained excellence, character, and faith-filled13 leadership;14 Whereas, In recent seasons, the Indiana Wesleyan University20262407HR 1533/DI 140 202621 women's volleyball team captured three consecutive National2 Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national3 championships in 2023, 2024, and 2025, joining a select group4 of programs in NAIA history to win three straight national5 titles;6Whereas, The Wildcats secured the 2025 NAIA Volleyball7 National Championship with a commanding 3-1 victory over8 Northwestern College, capping a remarkable 33-4 season and9 affirming their status as one of the nation's elite programs;10 Whereas, The team's success reflects not only athletic skill11 but also resilience, unity, and the pursuit of excellence in all12 aspects of university life, both on and off the court;13Whereas, Head Coach Candace Moats exemplifies servant14 leadership through her unwavering commitment to faith,15 integrity, open communication, and the personal and spiritual16 development of her student-athletes, guiding them to grow as17 champions and leaders;18Whereas, Coach Moats has reached remarkable personal19 milestones, including surpassing 1,000 career victories,20 multiple conference championships, numerous national21 tournament appearances, and mentoring nearly three dozen22 NAIA All-American athletes;23 Whereas, Coach Moats is recognized as one of the leading24 coaches in collegiate volleyball, including being named25 American Volleyball Coaches Association NAIA Coach of the26 Year and Crossroads League Coach of the Year for her27 accomplishments and impact on the sport; and28Whereas, The athletic success of the Indiana Wesleyan29 University women's volleyball program brings honor and pride30 to Indiana Wesleyan University, the Crossroads League, and31 Indiana, while serving as a testament to the value of32 perseverance, teamwork, and Christian character: Therefore,33Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the34General Assembly of the State of Indiana:20262407HR 1533/DI 140 202631SECTION 1.
