A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring the Indiana Wesleyan
University women's volleyball team and Head Coach Candace
Moats.
Whereas, The Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats have
achieved extraordinary success on the national stage,
demonstrating excellence in women's volleyball through
athletic competition and teamwork;
Whereas, Under the inspirational leadership of Head Coach
Candace Moats, who dedicated more than two decades to the
Indiana Wesleyan University program and more than forty
years to collegiate volleyball coaching, the Wildcats built a
tradition of sustained excellence, character, and faith-filled
leadership;
Whereas, In recent seasons, the Indiana Wesleyan University

women's volleyball team captured three consecutive National
Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national
championships in 2023, 2024, and 2025, joining a select group
of programs in NAIA history to win three straight national
titles;
Whereas, The Wildcats secured the 2025 NAIA Volleyball
National Championship with a commanding 3-1 victory over
Northwestern College, capping a remarkable 33-4 season and
affirming their status as one of the nation's elite programs;
Whereas, The team's success reflects not only athletic skill
but also resilience, unity, and the pursuit of excellence in all
aspects of university life, both on and off the court;
Whereas, Head Coach Candace Moats exemplifies servant
leadership through her unwavering commitment to faith,
integrity, open communication, and the personal and spiritual
development of her student-athletes, guiding them to grow as
champions and leaders;
Whereas, Coach Moats has reached remarkable personal
milestones, including surpassing 1,000 career victories,
multiple conference championships, numerous national
tournament appearances, and mentoring nearly three dozen
NAIA All-American athletes;
Whereas, Coach Moats is recognized as one of the leading
coaches in collegiate volleyball, including being named
American Volleyball Coaches Association NAIA Coach of the
Year and Crossroads League Coach of the Year for her
accomplishments and impact on the sport; and
Whereas, The athletic success of the Indiana Wesleyan
University women's volleyball program brings honor and pride
to Indiana Wesleyan University, the Crossroads League, and
Indiana, while serving as a testament to the value of
perseverance, teamwork, and Christian character: Therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
congratulates the Indiana Wesleyan University women's
volleyball team for its remarkable achievements and
unwavering pursuit of excellence.
SECTION 2. That the Indiana House of Representatives
formally recognizes Head Coach Candace Moats for her
outstanding leadership, her commitment to her student-athletes'
athletic and personal growth, and her contributions in building
a premier volleyball program grounded in faith and integrity.
SECTION 3. That the Indiana House of Representatives
extends its best wishes to the Indiana Wesleyan University
women's volleyball team, Coach Moats, and all associated with
the program, as they continue to represent the values of
sportsmanship, dedication, and excellence for years to come.
SECTION 4. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to the
President of Indiana Wesleyan University, the Indiana
Wesleyan University women's volleyball coaching staff, and
each student member of the Indiana Wesleyan University
Wildcats women's volleyball team.
