1A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring the Indiana Wesleyan
2    University women's volleyball team and Head Coach Candace
3    Moats.
4Whereas, The Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats have
5    achieved extraordinary success on the national stage,
6    demonstrating excellence in women's volleyball through
7    athletic competition and teamwork;
8Whereas, Under the inspirational leadership of Head Coach
9    Candace Moats, who dedicated more than two decades to the
10    Indiana Wesleyan University program and more than forty
11    years to collegiate volleyball coaching, the Wildcats built a
12    tradition of sustained excellence, character, and faith-filled
13    leadership;
14      Whereas, In recent seasons, the Indiana Wesleyan University

1    women's volleyball team captured three consecutive National
2    Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national
3    championships in 2023, 2024, and 2025, joining a select group
4    of programs in NAIA history to win three straight national
5    titles;
6Whereas, The Wildcats secured the 2025 NAIA Volleyball
7    National Championship with a commanding 3-1 victory over
8    Northwestern College, capping a remarkable 33-4 season and
9    affirming their status as one of the nation's elite programs;
10      Whereas, The team's success reflects not only athletic skill
11    but also resilience, unity, and the pursuit of excellence in all
12    aspects of university life, both on and off the court;
13Whereas, Head Coach Candace Moats exemplifies servant
14    leadership through her unwavering commitment to faith,
15    integrity, open communication, and the personal and spiritual
16    development of her student-athletes, guiding them to grow as
17    champions and leaders;
18Whereas, Coach Moats has reached remarkable personal
19    milestones, including surpassing 1,000 career victories,
20    multiple conference championships, numerous national
21    tournament appearances, and mentoring nearly three dozen
22    NAIA All-American athletes;
23      Whereas, Coach Moats is recognized as one of the leading
24    coaches in collegiate volleyball, including being named
25    American Volleyball Coaches Association NAIA Coach of the
26    Year and Crossroads League Coach of the Year for her
27    accomplishments and impact on the sport; and
28Whereas, The athletic success of the Indiana Wesleyan
29    University women's volleyball program brings honor and pride
30    to Indiana Wesleyan University, the Crossroads League, and
31    Indiana, while serving as a testament to the value of
32    perseverance, teamwork, and Christian character: Therefore,
33Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
34General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

1SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
2    congratulates the Indiana Wesleyan University women's
3    volleyball team for its remarkable achievements and
4    unwavering pursuit of excellence.
5SECTION 2. That the Indiana House of Representatives
6    formally recognizes Head Coach Candace Moats for her
7    outstanding leadership, her commitment to her student-athletes'
8    athletic and personal growth, and her contributions in building
9    a premier volleyball program grounded in faith and integrity.
10SECTION 3. That the Indiana House of Representatives
11    extends its best wishes to the Indiana Wesleyan University
12    women's volleyball team, Coach Moats, and all associated with
13    the program, as they continue to represent the values of
14    sportsmanship, dedication, and excellence for years to come.
15SECTION 4. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
16    Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to the
17    President of Indiana Wesleyan University, the Indiana
18    Wesleyan University women's volleyball coaching staff, and
19    each student member of the Indiana Wesleyan University
20    Wildcats women's volleyball team.
