                    RESOLUTION No. _____
1    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing Indiana
2 4-H.
3     Whereas, Indiana 4-H was established in 1904 in Hamilton
4 County by John F. Haines, a school superintendent, to
5 empower young boys and girls in the state to reach their full
6 potential;
7     Whereas, Members of Indiana 4-H consistently demonstrate
8 the ability and leadership necessary to serve as outstanding
9 representatives of the young people of Indiana;
10     Whereas, The Purdue Extension organization, in
11 partnership with counties and thousands of 4-H volunteers,
12 administers 4-H educational programming to prepare youth for
13 careers and college in all 92 counties to 200,000 youth each
14 year;
15     Whereas, Seventy-one percent of 4-H members go on to
16 post-secondary school options and the Indiana 4-H program is
17 partnering to offer college credit and local pathways to support
18 high school graduation pathways;
19    Whereas, Indiana 4-H has committed to serving more than
20 250,000 Indiana youth as part of the national 4-H Beyond
21 Ready initiative, which aims to provide 10 million youth
22 opportunities to be healthy, productive, and engaged;
23     Whereas, Community clubs, after-school programs, in-
24 school programs, camps, and workshops give youth across the

1 state an opportunity to be involved with the 4-H program; and
2      Whereas, Indiana 4-H Day at the Statehouse will take place
3 this year on February 10, and it is proper to honor Indiana 4-H
4 on the occasion of 4-H Day at the Statehouse and to
5 congratulate the organization for preparing young Hoosiers to
6 be productive citizens and world-class leaders of tomorrow:
7 Therefore,
8Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
9of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
10concurring:
11      SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
12 recognizes Indiana 4-H and Purdue Extension and recognizes
13 February 10, 2026, as 4-H Day at the Statehouse.
14      SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
15 to transmit copies of this Resolution to the Purdue Extension 4-
16 H youth development program as well as 4-H ambassadors
17 Abigail Montemer, Analiese Ackerman, Ava Armstrong,
18 Brooke Kitch, Isabella Gibson, Jaylynn Hernandez, Luke
19 Preyss, Matthew Goff, Morgan Keith, and Sydney Bauman.
