A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing Indiana
4-H.
Whereas, Indiana 4-H was established in 1904 in Hamilton
County by John F. Haines, a school superintendent, to
empower young boys and girls in the state to reach their full
potential;
Whereas, Members of Indiana 4-H consistently demonstrate
the ability and leadership necessary to serve as outstanding
representatives of the young people of Indiana;
Whereas, The Purdue Extension organization, in
partnership with counties and thousands of 4-H volunteers,
administers 4-H educational programming to prepare youth for
careers and college in all 92 counties to 200,000 youth each
year;
Whereas, Seventy-one percent of 4-H members go on to
post-secondary school options and the Indiana 4-H program is
partnering to offer college credit and local pathways to support
high school graduation pathways;
Whereas, Indiana 4-H has committed to serving more than
250,000 Indiana youth as part of the national 4-H Beyond
Ready initiative, which aims to provide 10 million youth
opportunities to be healthy, productive, and engaged;
Whereas, Community clubs, after-school programs, in-
school programs, camps, and workshops give youth across the

state an opportunity to be involved with the 4-H program; and
Whereas, Indiana 4-H Day at the Statehouse will take place
this year on February 10, and it is proper to honor Indiana 4-H
on the occasion of 4-H Day at the Statehouse and to
congratulate the organization for preparing young Hoosiers to
be productive citizens and world-class leaders of tomorrow:
Therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
concurring:
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
recognizes Indiana 4-H and Purdue Extension and recognizes
February 10, 2026, as 4-H Day at the Statehouse.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
to transmit copies of this Resolution to the Purdue Extension 4-
H youth development program as well as 4-H ambassadors
Abigail Montemer, Analiese Ackerman, Ava Armstrong,
Brooke Kitch, Isabella Gibson, Jaylynn Hernandez, Luke
Preyss, Matthew Goff, Morgan Keith, and Sydney Bauman.
