 Zoning protest petition-amendments.

                               A BILL
                                    for
1 AN ACT relating to cities and towns; amending the zoning
2 protest process as specified; specifying applicability; and
3 providing for an effective date.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

7Section 1.   W.S. 15-1-603(a) is amended to read:
8
915-1-603.    Regulations;  protest      makes      change
10 ineffective; exception; hearing and notice.

12(a)   If there is a protest against a change in the
13 regulations, restrictions or district boundaries signed by
14 more than one (1) of the owners of twenty percent (20%) of
15 record, as shown by the county assessor, who either own

1 thirty‑three percent (33%) or more of the area of the lots
2 included     in    the    proposed     change,    or    of     those    comprise
3 thirty‑three percent (33%) or more of the owners immediately
4 adjacent within a distance of one hundred forty (140) three
5 hundred (300) feet, the change is not effective except upon
6 the affirmative vote of three-fourths (3/4) two‑thirds (2/3)
7 of all the members of the governing body. In determining
8 the one hundred forty (140) three hundred (300) feet, the
9 width   of   any    intervening       street     or    alley    shall    not   be
10 included.

12Section     2.    This   act   shall    apply    to     zoning   changes
13 made on and after July 1, 2026.

15Section 3.        This act is effective July 1, 2026.
