Trott, Jr., a devoted public servant and a highly admired member of the Falls Church community, died on January 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, friendship, and genuine care for the city he called home; andWHEREAS, Edward “Ted” A. Trott, Jr., grew up in Washington, D.C., where he graduated from Gonzaga College High School and Georgetown University; andWHEREAS, Ted Trott proudly served the City of Falls Church for 28 years as deputy registrar in the Office of Elections, where he was known for his deep knowledge, reliability, and commitment to ensuring fair and accurate elections; andWHEREAS, throughout his many years of service, Ted Trott consistently performed his work with care, professionalism, and pride, earning the respect and appreciation of colleagues, city leadership, and the residents he served; andWHEREAS, Ted Trott was not only an exceptional employee, but also a valued colleague and a true friend, remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and the warmth he brought to the workplace each day; andWHEREAS, Ted Trott took great pride in both living in and serving the City of Falls Church, and his dedication reflected a deep belief in public service and community; andWHEREAS, even into his later years, Ted Trott remained deeply committed to his work, setting an enduring example of dedication, integrity, and love for the job he so greatly enjoyed; andWHEREAS, Ted Trott will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Jeanne; his children, Barry, Mary, Judith, Anthony, Matthew, and Emily, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be itRESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Edward A. Trott, Jr., a respected member of the Falls Church community who touched countless lives over the course of his distinguished career as a deputy registrar; and, be itRESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Edward A. Trott, Jr., as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
