A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Eli Lilly
and Company on 150 years of advancing health, science, and a
better future for Hoosiers and people around the world.
Whereas, Eli Lilly and Company was founded on May 10,
1876, in Indianapolis, Indiana, by Colonel Eli Lilly, a visionary
leader devoted to creating medicines of the highest quality to
improve people's lives everywhere;
Whereas, From its modest beginnings in downtown
Indianapolis, Lilly has grown into a global leader in
pharmaceutical innovation, employing more than 50,000
people worldwide–nearly 23,000 in the United States–while
maintaining a proud and enduring headquarters presence in
Indiana;
Whereas, For 150 years, Lilly has stood at the forefront of
scientific discovery, delivering breakthrough medicines that
have transformed care for diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's
disease, autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, and
countless other conditions, improving lives across generations;
Whereas, Lilly's commitment to progress is matched by its
dedication to the Hoosier State, investing billions of dollars in
U.S.-based manufacturing and research facilities, fueling
education and workforce development, and strengthening
Indiana's position as a global hub for life sciences excellence;
Whereas, Through the Lilly Foundation and the volunteer
spirit of thousands of employees, the company has enriched
communities with programs that promote health, education,
and economic mobility, living out its founder's belief that
business should serve the greater good;

Whereas, Lilly's heritage is built on values of integrity,
excellence, and respect for people, principles that have guided
the company for a century and a half and will continue to
inspire its purpose to make life better for generations to come;
and
Whereas, The Indiana General Assembly honors Eli Lilly
and Company for its extraordinary contributions to science,
health, and economic vitality, and expresses deep gratitude for
150 years of leadership, innovation, and service to Indiana and
the world: Therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
the Senate concurring:
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
congratulates Eli Lilly and Company on this historic milestone
and looks forward to its continued role as a proud steward of
Indiana's legacy of innovation and discovery.
SECTION 2. That as Eli Lilly and Company celebrates 150
years of innovation and service, guided by its purpose, Lilly
looks to the future with determination to discover, serve, and
lead, ensuring that the next 150 years bring even greater hope
and health for all.
SECTION 3. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to Eli
Lilly and Company for distribution.
