1     A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Eli Lilly
2 and Company on 150 years of advancing health, science, and a
3 better future for Hoosiers and people around the world.
4     Whereas, Eli Lilly and Company was founded on May 10,
5 1876, in Indianapolis, Indiana, by Colonel Eli Lilly, a visionary
6 leader devoted to creating medicines of the highest quality to
7 improve people's lives everywhere;
8     Whereas, From its modest beginnings in downtown
9 Indianapolis, Lilly has grown into a global leader in
10 pharmaceutical innovation, employing more than 50,000
11 people worldwide–nearly 23,000 in the United States–while
12 maintaining a proud and enduring headquarters presence in
13 Indiana;
14     Whereas, For 150 years, Lilly has stood at the forefront of
15 scientific discovery, delivering breakthrough medicines that
16 have transformed care for diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's
17 disease, autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, and
18 countless other conditions, improving lives across generations;
19     Whereas, Lilly's commitment to progress is matched by its
20 dedication to the Hoosier State, investing billions of dollars in
21 U.S.-based manufacturing and research facilities, fueling
22 education and workforce development, and strengthening
23 Indiana's position as a global hub for life sciences excellence;
24     Whereas, Through the Lilly Foundation and the volunteer
25 spirit of thousands of employees, the company has enriched
26 communities with programs that promote health, education,
27 and economic mobility, living out its founder's belief that
28 business should serve the greater good;

1     Whereas, Lilly's heritage is built on values of integrity,
2 excellence, and respect for people, principles that have guided
3 the company for a century and a half and will continue to
4 inspire its purpose to make life better for generations to come;
5 and
6     Whereas, The Indiana General Assembly honors Eli Lilly
7 and Company for its extraordinary contributions to science,
8 health, and economic vitality, and expresses deep gratitude for
9 150 years of leadership, innovation, and service to Indiana and
10 the world: Therefore,
11Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
12of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
13the Senate concurring:
14     SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
15 congratulates Eli Lilly and Company on this historic milestone
16 and looks forward to its continued role as a proud steward of
17 Indiana's legacy of innovation and discovery.
18     SECTION 2. That as Eli Lilly and Company celebrates 150
19 years of innovation and service, guided by its purpose, Lilly
20 looks to the future with determination to discover, serve, and
21 lead, ensuring that the next 150 years bring even greater hope
22 and health for all.
23     SECTION 3. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
24 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to Eli
25 Lilly and Company for distribution.
