1A RESOLUTION honoring the American College of Obstetricians and
2 Gynecologists on the occasion of its 75th anniversary and commending its members for
3 their dedication to improving the health of patients.
4WHEREAS, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)
5 was founded in 1951 and, for 75 years, has advanced the health and well-being of
6 patients through excellence in clinical practice, education, advocacy, and research; and
7WHEREAS, ACOG represents more than 62,000 health care professionals
8 nationwide, including 556 members in Kentucky, who provide essential obstetric and
9 gynecologic care to patients across the state; and
10WHEREAS, ACOG and its members in Kentucky have championed initiatives to
11 improve maternal health, protect the patient–physician relationship, and protect access to
12 health care for all individuals; and
13WHEREAS, ACOG works to create a stronger, more sustainable practice
14 environment for obstetrician–gynecologists and their patients; and
15WHEREAS, the 75th anniversary of ACOG offers an opportunity to recognize its
16 historic contributions and reaffirm our commitment to advancing the health of patients in
17 Kentucky;
18NOW, THEREFORE,
19 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
20 Kentucky:
21Section 1. The Senate hereby honors the American College of Obstetricians and
22 Gynecologists on the occasion of its 75th anniversary and commends its members for
23 their dedication to improving the health of patients.
24Section 2.       The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this
25 resolution to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as an expression
26 of appreciation for its service and leadership.
