Mattingly, Jr., was a born in Louisville on August 4, 1932,4 and was the son of Hubie and Josephine Fleig Mattingly; and5WHEREAS, Joseph H. Mattingly, Jr., was a valued member of the Loretto6 community in Marion County, where he operated the Mattingly Funeral Home and,7 earlier, the Loretto Barber Shop; and8WHEREAS, Joseph H. Mattingly, Jr., was a dedicated community servant, serving9 five terms as the Marion County Coroner, as well as serving his country in the United10 States Army, serving both roles with honor, integrity, and distinction; and11WHEREAS, Joseph H. Mattingly, Jr., served God as a faithful member of the Saint12 Francis of Assisi Church; and13WHEREAS, Joseph H. Mattingly, Jr., was the loving and beloved husband of14 Carolyn Masterson Mattingly, to whom he was married 67 years; and15WHEREAS, Joseph H. Mattingly, Jr., was the loving and beloved father of Donna16 (Stephen Brady) Mattingly, Joe (Carol) Mattingly, Alan (Cyndi) Mattingly, Norine17 (Bruce) Masterson, Laura (Wayne) Mitchell, and Gail Boggs; and18WHEREAS, Joseph H. Mattingly, Jr., was the loving and beloved grandfather of19 Elizabeth (Aaron) Lanning, Matthew Smith, Christine (Cole) Sinkford, Nicole (Jordan20 Patterson) Mattingly, Kelly Mattingly, Alex Mattingly, Joseph Mattingly, Eric21 (Christianne) Masterson, Andrew Masterson, Daniel (Rachael) Masterson, Brooke22 Mitchell, Blake Mitchell, Katie Boggs, Benjamin Boggs, Abby Boggs, and Josie Boggs;23 and24WHEREAS, Joseph H. Boggs,7 all of whom preceded him in passing; and8WHEREAS, Joseph H. Mattingly, Jr., departed this earthly life on February 23,9 2026;10NOW, THEREFORE,11 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of12 Kentucky:13Section 1. The Senate hereby expresses its most profound sympathy upon the14 passing of Joseph H. Mattingly, Jr., and extends heartfelt condolences to his family,15 friends, and community.16Section 2.
