  A RESOLUTION
  Honoring the Mars Hill Academy girls volleyball team
  as the 2025 OCSAA State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Mars Hill Academy girls  2
volleyball team on winning the 2025 Ohio Christian Schools Athletic      3
Association State Championship title; and  4
     WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the   5
Mars Hill Academy girls volleyball team have combined talent and  6
spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish        7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable  8
dedication, the Highlanders have worked diligently toward attaining      9
ultimate proficiency in volleyball, and as a result, they defeated a     10
tough Wilmington Christian Academy team in five sets to win this  11
year’s OCSAA State Championship, their third consecutive crown and       12
eighth such title since 2012; and  13
     WHEREAS, The Highlanders’ achievements and leadership are a  14
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the  15
players, their families, their school, their community, and their        16
coach, Robie Lucas. In leading his team to victory, Coach Lucas has      17
not only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest     18
but also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination,  19
perseverance, and camaraderie; and  20
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   21
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased     22
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach   23
for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have   24
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in    25
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it  26

As Adopted by the Senate
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General     27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Mars Hill       28
Academy girls volleyball team on its tremendous season and salute the      29
members and coach as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further     30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly  31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Mars Hill Academy girls       32
volleyball team.  33
