KATHLEEN PEEVY UPON THE OCCASION OF5 HER 100TH BIRTHDAY.67WHEREAS, highest commendations and congratulations8 are offered to Mrs. Kathleen Peevy of Brewton, Alabama, on9 the momentous occasion of her 100th Birthday; and10WHEREAS, Kathleen Peevy was born on March 15, 1926,11 to Martin and Julia Still of Brewton; she graduated from12 W.S. Neal High School in 1944 and then attended business13 school in Montgomery; and14WHEREAS, following her graduation from business15 school, Kathleen started working for Bell South as a16 telephone operator; this career took her to Portland,17 Oregon; Milton, Florida; and Pensacola, Florida; during her18 time in Milton, she went to school to learn to become a test19 desk man for Bell South; this was unique for her as she was20 the first female test desk man in northwest Florida; and21WHEREAS, over the years, Kathleen has been involved22 in Ladies' Aid with the Methodist Church, and The Telephone23 Employees Activities Association, where she enjoyed playing24 golf, sewing, cooking, and gardening; a few years ago,25 Kathleen was honored to serve as Grand Marshal of the W.S.26 Neal High School Homecoming Parade; and27WHEREAS, among her accomplishments, she has enjoyed28 being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, andPage 1HR203 INTRODUCED29 even great-great-grandmother; Kathleen married James Warren30 Rowell on January 22, 1966, in Brewton; they had one31 daughter and were married for 26 years before Mr. Rowell32 passed away; on August 9, 1995, Kathleen married Jack James33 Peevy in Point Washington, Florida; they were married for 1834 years before Mr. Peevy passed away; he had two children that35 Kathleen proudly claims as her own; and36WHEREAS, Kathleen's family includes her children,37 Margaret Rowell Bragg (Robert), Waylon Peevy (deceased and38 survived by his wife, Ann), and Amanda Roberson Kelly (Pat);39 grandchildren, Katie Bragg Madril (David), Steven Bragg,40 Jason Peevy (Heather), Angela Peevy Esponge (Greg), Emily41 Peevy Waller (Aaron), Rachel Roberson Wiggins (Phillip), and42 Joshua Roberson; 10 great-grandchildren; and four43 great-great-grandchildren; and44WHEREAS, Kathleen is a longtime member of First45 Methodist Church in Brewton; her family is celebrating her46 birthday on March 14, 2026, at the church fellowship hall;47 and48WHEREAS, a 100th Birthday is a significant milestone49 that represents 10 decades of wisdom earned and memories50 gained, and it is cause for great rejoicing; now therefore,51BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE52 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Mrs. Kathleen Peevy is53 deserving of special honor and recognition, and we are54 pleased to offer this resolution to her as evidence of our55 high regard for her many life accomplishments, along with56 sincere wishes for more happy and healthy times to come.Page 2
